Rent-a-Car_Airport
The building, which will house offices for vehicle rental, is located on a plot near Kythira State Airport, at 73 Provincial Road (Kastrissianika - Paleopolis). The area around the plot is "open" and flat, with low vegetation that consists mainly of phrygana. The horizontality of the area as well as the existence of the Airport, which supplies the highway with "from" and "to" paths, were the occasion for the concept of suspended parallel levels. The building consists of two slabs that "hover" above the ground, while at the same time extending from the in between volume’s sides, in order to further emphasize their suspension. The suspension is also highlighted by the transparency of part of the volume, which favors visual contact with both the highway and the back of the plot, where the vehicles are parked.
